HC Deb 12 December 1967 vol 756 c106W
Mr. Henry Clark

asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food if he will give an undertaking that millers and corn merchants will not be prevented by the Government's prices and incomes policy from raising the prices of animal feedingstuffs by the full amount necessitated by devaluation and the 8 per cent. Bank rate; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Peart

Any notifications from manufacturers of animal feedingstuffs of proposed price increases as a result of devaluation and other causes will be examined within the framework of the early warning system. I am meeting representatives of the major food trades to discuss with them the Government's policy on prices in the light of devaluation.
