HC Deb 11 December 1967 vol 756 c28W
Mr. Lomas

asked the Minister of Social Security why attendants at lodging houses are not covered by the Industrial Injuries (Prescribed Diseases) Act in respect of tuberculosis; and if she will amend the regulations to remedy this omission.

Mr. Pentland

Lodging house attendants as a general class do not satisfy the conditions of section 56(2) of the National Insurance (Industrial Injuries) Act 1965, which must be met before the existing cover against tuberculosis under the National Insurance (Industrial Injuries) (Prescribed Diseases) Regulations can be extended to them.
