HC Deb 11 December 1967 vol 756 c56W
Mr. Bishop

asked the Minister of Power if he is aware that the National Coal Board is taking steps to relate the rents of tenants in Coal Industry Housing Association houses to the increased rents being levied by some local authorities; and if he will give a direction in the public interest to ensure that increases are not made, in view of the need to stabilise the cost of living.

Mr. Freeson:

It is the general policy of the Board to relate these rents to those of similar types of houses owned by local authorities. This appears reasonable and I see no reason to intervene.
