§ Mrs. HartNo. We have no evidence of special difficulty arising for old people generally as a result of these disputes. If such difficulties did arise, I would expect that help would be forthcoming from local welfare organisations in the form of services; but the Supplementary Benefits Commission could help old people living at Supplementary Benefit standards with, for example, increased expenses to attend hospital and to make emergency journeys.
