§ 54. Miss Lestorasked the Secretary of State for Education and Science if he will withdraw Circular 18/60 in relation to nursery schools, and encourage local authorities to make this provision in the light of their particular facilities.
§ Miss BaconNo. In view of other pressing claims on our resources and the continuing teacher shortage, which is most critical in the infants schools, we do not feel able to relax the present restrictions on nursery education.
