§ 39. Mr. Channonasked the Secretary of State for Education and Science whether it will be open to the new committees set up to consider the best structure for the British national libraries to recommend that the National Library should be on the original Bloomsbury site.
§ 40. Mr. Straussasked the Secretary of State for Education and Science whether the terms of reference to Dr. Dainton's Committee will enable it to consider the desirability of locating the proposed National Library in whole or in part on the Bloomsbury site.
§ Mr. Gordon WalkerThe Committee will be free to make recommendations about the size and function of that part of the National Library which they consider should be in central London; it will 359W be for the Government to decide how and where the needs may best be met.
