Mr. Frank Allaunasked the Prime Minister if he will give instructions to the Minister of Housing and Local Government, the Minister of Public Building and Works and the Minister of Labour with a view to an immediate increase in house building and, at the 386W same time, a reduction in the pool of unemployed.
§ The Prime MinisterNo, the number of houses under construction has been at or near record levels for some months and the housing programmes of local authorities taken as a whole are running at the highest figure for at least ten years. The scope for further early increases is thus small. I would also remind my hon.
