§ 108. Captain W. Elliotasked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food what plans he has to compensate the employers of those affected by the official ban on horse racing; and if he will make a statement.
§ Mr. PeartNone. There has been no official ban on horse racing, but by the very helpful co-operation of the stewards of the National Hunt Committee horse racing has been stopped for the time being. I regret that it would not be practicable for me to compensate those affected by this or other matters consequential on an epidemic of foot-and-mouth disease.
