§ Mr. Cledwyn HughesGrants are not allocated separately towards the cost of acquiring land under Section 20(3,a) and the cost of carrying out work under Section 20(3)(b). In 1966–67 one grant of £6,174 was allocated towards the cost of a scheme costing £7,633 of which £4,384 represented the cost of acquiring the land. In the current financial year, 18 grants amounting to £652,377 have so far been approved in respect of schemes costing £961,586 of which a total of £188,468 was for land acquisition where that was necessary. In addition, outline proposals have been prepared or are being prepared for 13 other sites and the Derelict Land Unit has been asked to assist in preparing outline proposals for a number of others.
