HC Deb 04 December 1967 vol 755 c211W
57. Dr. David Kerr

asked the Minister of Health what was the estimated cost to the National Health Service of treating firework injuries in 1967; and what was the number of these injuries treated in hospital.

Wales (Including Monmouthshire) Monmouthshire
1952 1967 1952 1967
Doctors providing full general medical services 1,074 1,220 164 186
Average number of patients per list 2,321 2,230 2,522 2,356

Notes:

(1) 1952 is the first year for which comparable figures are available.

(2) The figures for 1967, which relate to 1st October, are provisional.

(3) The true numbers of patients per doctor will be slightly smaller since it is not possible to eliminate all duplicate entries from doctors' lists.
