§ Mr. SwinglerThe volume of traffic on the southbound carriageway of the M1, south of the junction with the M45 is estimated to increase by about 50 per cent. between 1966 and 1972. It is not possible to estimate the increase in traffic directly attributable to the existence of the M1 extension or the M6 link.
