Bullusasked the Minister of Social Security if she will review the national contributory pensions scheme with a view to the inclusion of British people who have been excluded in the past through exceptional circumstances and who might be given the opportunity to pay the necessary additional payments in order to qualify.
§ Miss HerbisonThe point which the hon. and gallant Member has raised will be borne in mind in our review of the National Insurance Scheme, but I cannot hold out any hope of substantial new concessions in favour of people who have gaps in their National Insurance records because they have lived abroad, or for other reasons.
