§ Mr. Maxwellasked the Minister of Housing and Local Government what progress has been made towards the appointment of the members of the Milton Keynes Development Corporation.
§ Mr. GreenwoodI have already announced the appointment of Lord Campbell of Eskan as Chairman of the Milton Keynes Development Corporation. I have now decided to appoint Mr. W. N. Ismay as Deputy Chairman and the following members:—
Two vancancies remain to be filled on the Board. I shall make an announcement about these later.
- Councillor R. G. Bellchambers (chairman of Newport Pagnell R.D.C.).
- Councillor J. F. Cassidy (member and former chairman of Bletchley U.D.C.).
- County Councillor Mrs. A. M. Durbridge.
- Mr. A. Meikle.
- County Alderman R. B. Verney.
Because of the exceptional nature of this project the deputy chairman will serve full time, and as such will act as the Corporation's chief executive. I should like him to be known as the Managing Director.
