HC Deb 17 April 1967 vol 745 c1W
7. Mr. Woodburn

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs what steps he is taking to increase parliamentary participation in the work of the United Kingdom Mission to the United Nations.

Mr. George Thomson

It is intended that two Parliamentarians should participate in the United Kingdom Delegation to the Twenty-Second Sessions of the General Assembly. One will lead in the Third Committee dealing with' Social Affairs and Human Rights. The other will lead in the Fourth Committee dealing with colonial questions. It is also intended that another Parliamentary delegation should visit the Assembly during its session, but for two weeks instead of one.
