HC Deb 17 April 1967 vol 745 c15W
Mr. Biffen

asked the Minister of Labour how many proposals for increasing the remuneration of employees by improving or instituting meal vouchers or trading stamps have been referred to him during the periods of standstill and severe restraint, respectively; and how many were approved.

Mr. Hattersley

In the last five months the Ministry of Labour has received well over 8,000 written inquiries about the interpretation of the Government's incomes policy. The scrutiny of records to identify the small numbers of these cases would involve unjustifiable cost.
