HC Deb 17 April 1967 vol 745 cc1-2W
23. Mr. Bence

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether he is satisfied that the commercial facilities at the disposal of our missions abroad are adequate to give all necessary help and advice to British businessmen; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. George Thomson

Yes.

The Report of the Plowden Committee on Representational Services Overseas stressed that economic and commercial work should be a first charge on the resources of the Diplomatic Service. We fully accept this and act accordingly.
