HC Deb 17 April 1967 vol 745 cc34-5W
Mr. Onslow

asked the Secretary of State for Education and Science what increase or decrease there has been in the staff of his Department since 16th October 1964; and what increase or decrease he anticipates in the period up to 15th October 1967.

Mr. Crosland

The staff of my Department has increased since 16th October, 1964, by 673 full-time and 35 part-time officers. I expect that a further increase of about 125 will occur between now and 15th October, 1967. These additions will be used mainly to develop the Department's statistical computing and planning services, and to extend the services provided by the Science Museum and the Victoria and Albert Museum.
