HC Deb 14 April 1967 vol 744 c261W
Mr. Henig

asked the Minister of Labour what were the percentages of persons totally unemployed in the United Kingdom at the end of each of the years 1958 to 1966; and how they compare with corresponding percentages in France and the German Federal Republic.

Mr. Hattersley

The following information about percentage rates of wholly unemployed persons, which is available from the usual international sources for the Federal Republic of Germany (excluding West Berlin), is shown alongside data for the United Kingdom. Similar information is not available for France.

Owing to differences in concept, scope, methodology and presentation, it cannot be assumed that figures for different countries are comparable.
