HC Deb 14 April 1967 vol 744 c250W
Mr. Dalyell

asked the Secretary of State for Education and Science what study is being given to the question of mobility of scientists between one scientific institution and another.

Mr. Crosland

The question of mobility between Government research establishments and universities has been studied by Sir Gordon Sutherland's Working Party of the Council for Scientific Policy whose Report was published last month. The Committee on Manpower Resources for Science and Technology has recently established a Working Group under the chairmanship of Professor Ball to study the utilisation in employment of scientists, engineers, and technologists; this Group will examine the question of mobility as an important aspect of its work.
