Mr. Onslow

asked the Minister of Housing and Local Government what increase or decrease there has been in the staff of his Department since 16th October 1964; and what increase or decrease he anticipates in the period up to 15th October, 1967.

Mr. Greenwood

Between 16th October, 1964, and 1st April, 1967, there was an increase of 838. This figure includes the staff transferred to the Department on the dissolution of the Ministry of Land and Natural Resources on 16th February, 1967.

I cannot at this stage predict what changes there will be over the next six months.
