HC Deb 14 April 1967 vol 744 c268W
Mr. Kershaw

asked the Minister of Transport why there is no sign at the Knockdown crossroads on A433 indicating the whereabouts of this substantial hamlet; what would be the cost of providing such signs; whether she is aware of the inconvenience caused to farmers, tradesmen and travellers by the absence of such signs; and whether she will now provide suitable signs.

Mr. John Morris

The A433 is a classified road and the section at Knockdown is the responsibility of the Gloucestershire County Council as highway authority; they have decided that this hamlet is too small to warrant place name signs, which would cost some £30. On present evidence my right hon. Friend is not prepared to intervene.
