§ Mr. George ThomsonThe special high-level group established by the North Atlantic Council has begun its study of the future tasks of the alliance. The United Kingdom and certain other members of the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation have been invited to appoint special representatives to prepare reports for discussion by the group on various aspects of the question. Her Majesty's Government attach importance to this236W study of the ways in which the alliance can be most effectively employed in present circumstances and have nominated Mr. Adam Watson, until last year Her Majesty's Ambassador to Cuba, to work with the Permanent United Kingdom Representative on the North Atlantic Council for this purpose.
