asked the President of the Board of Trade what consideration has been given to paragraph 257 of the Yorkshire and Humberside Economic Planning Council's review of Yorkshire and Humberside; and whether he will make a statement.

With my right hon. Friend the First Secretary of State and other colleagues, my right hon. Friend hopes shortly to meet the Chairman of the Yorkshire and Humberside Economic Planning Council to discuss in more detail this and other recommendations in the review.
