HC Deb 12 April 1967 vol 744 c190W
Mr. Frank Allaun

asked the Secretary of State for Defence if he will state either the quantity or value of textiles bought by his Department from abroad in the last year; and if he will state separately the figures for Portugal and Hong Kong.

Mr. Boyden

My Department has not bought any textile piece goods, that is cotton and cotton blended cloths, directly from abroad in the last year. However, the value of such piece goods imported by our United Kingdom contractors, before being finished for us, totalled approximately £213,000; about £45,000 from Portugal and about £167,000 from Hong Kong.
