HC Deb 11 April 1967 vol 744 cc173-4W
Sir J. Rodgers

asked the Postmaster-General (1) what steps are now taken to give notice to Premium Bond holders that they have drawn a prize; and what percentage of prize winners have failed to collect their prizes;

(2) whether there is any limitation on the length of time within which a claim for a Premium Bond prize can be made.

Mr. Joseph Slater

We write to all winners individually. If there is no answer we make inquiries through the local head postmaster. Winning numbers are published each month in theLondon, Edinburgh and Belfast Gazettes, and copies are exhibited in all the larger post offices: every quarter a list is included of prizes that have been unclaimed for 18 months or longer.

Of prizes won up to September, 1966 0.07 per cent. are still unclaimed; later prizes are still being followed up. There is no time limit for claiming prizes.
