§ Mr. Thorntonasked the Secretary of State for Commonwealth Affairs what were Hong Kong's visible trade balances including re-exports with Japan, expressed as percentages of total visible trade between the two countries in 1964, 1965, and 1966; and what were the corresponding figures for Hong Kong's trade with the United Kingdom.
§ Mrs. HartHong Kong had adverse balances of 66 per cent., 60 per cent., 61 per cent. with Japan in 1964, 1965 and 1966 respectively. With the United Kingdom there was a favourable balance of 10 per cent. in 1964 and adverse balances of 3 per cent. and 0.3 per cent. in 1965 and 1966.
