§ Mr. Brewisasked the Secretary of State for Scotland what estimate he has made of the cost of restoring damage caused in Galloway by the recent floods.
§ Mr. RossInformation available to me suggests that the cost of restoring flood banks on agricultural land may be of the order of £24,000, of which half relates to properties which are in any case wholly financed from public funds. I have no information about the costs of making good other damage.
