§ Mrs. WhiteThe Welsh Joint Education Committee administers a scheme whereby education authorities assist the publication of children's books in Welsh. The authorities agree to guarantee a minimum annual expenditure on such books. The total expenditure for 1965–66 (the latest figure available) was £29,000. The guarantee for the year 1967–68 is £45,000. Government grants are given towards this service, as part of general local authority expenditure.
