The Prime Minister

As the House knows, last August my right hon. Friend the Home Secretary and I met Captain O'Neill and in January we again met him, and other senior Ministers of the Northern Ireland Government, when a number of matters bearing on relations between the United Kingdom Government and the Northern Ireland Government were discussed. We have arranged that these talks will be carried further in future meetings. I have no proposals for legislation to lay before the House.
