§ 37. Mr. Hector Hughesasked the Minister of Technology (1) if he will take steps to enlarge the scope and nature of the work now being done of an experimental character at Dounreay so as to include in that work the production of power for the use of trade and industry in North-East Scotland;
(2) if he will make a statement on the scientific developments at Dounreay Experimental Station during the last six months indicating the relevant plans for applying power produced there for the benefit of productive industry in North-East Scotland.
§ Dr. BrayThe Experimental Fast Reactor at Dounreay has already produced well over 150 million kilowatt hours of electricity for Scotland to date. Electricity from the Prototype Fast Reactor will also be fed to the grid when it begins operating about 1971.
