§ 74. Mr. Biggs-Davisonasked the Secretary of State for Defence what responsibility is exercised by the Commonwealth War Graves Commission for the graves of Commonwealth dead of the First World War at Lumbo in Mozambique; and whether he will make a statement.
§ Mr. ReynoldsThe Commission maintain Lumbo British Cemetery through their area Superintendent for East Africa. British Consular officials also visit the cemetery on behalf of the Commission. There has been some difficulty in providing for the care of the garden, but the cemetery was reported last August as being in fair condition, and the war grave headstones were in good repair.
