§ 61. Mr. George Jegerasked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food whether he is aware of the closure of a Yorkshire Farmers' bacon factory causing redundancy and loss of production; and whether he will adjust the price levels within the industry to encourage its expansion.
§ Mr. PeartI have been told of the decision to cease curing at the Sherburnin-Elmet factory. The present difficulties of the curing industry largely stem from the decline in the number of pigs, and I have taken action to encourage expansion of pig production.
