§ Mr. Lubbockasked the Minister of Power (1) if he will give a general direction to the Gas Council to supply natural Gas to the Central Electricity Generating Board for use in gas turbine generating plant;
(2) if he will estimate the cost of converting all the gas turbine plant operated by the Central Electricity Generating Board from oil to natural gas.
§ Mr. MarshThe factors affecting the supply of natural gas to power stations, including the cost of conversion, are being studied jointly by the Gas Council and the Central Electricity Generating Board. Until this and other related studies have been completed it will not be possible to determine the pattern of use which would be most favourable for the country.
