§ Mr. Spriggsasked the Postmaster-General what representations he has received from the Subpostmasters Federation against the downgrading of St. Helens Head Post Office; what replies he gave; and if he will reconsider the Head Postmaster's position at the St. Helens Post Office in view of the co-operation which industry has always been able to rely upon whilst the Post Office administration for St. Helens has been sited in the town's centre.
§ Mr. Edward ShortNone from the headquarters of the National Federation of Subpostmasters, although local Sub-postmasters have associated themselves with a protest by the local staff. A Crown Post Office will remain in the town centre after the reorganisation, and I am satisfied that there will continue to be the fullest co-operation with local industry.
