HC Deb 29 November 1966 vol 737 c57W
Sir C. Osborne

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he will now abandon his proposals to create a new artificial reserve currency, in view of the Swiss bankers' opposition on the ground that while Swiss Federal debts are only 10 per cent. of their gross natural product, and America's amounts to 50 per cent., Great Britain's debt is over 100 per cent.
