HC Deb 29 November 1966 vol 737 cc49-50W
38. Mr. Higgins

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer which member-Governments of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development publish official quarterly or annual economic forecasts of their economies; and what percentage of the member-Governments do so.

Mr. MacDermot

The Governments of the United States, Japan, Belgium and Luxembourg, France, Ireland, Italy, the Netherlands, Norway, Sweden and Turkey all publish some form of annual economic forecast consisting of a qualitative analysis supported by statistical tables; while the Governments of Canada and Denmark publish annual forecasts without statistical tables. This represents 13 Governments out of 21 (counting Belgium and Luxembourg separately), that is, some 60 per cent.
