HC Deb 29 November 1966 vol 737 c85W
Q8. Mr. Hamling

asked the Prime Minister what are the reasons for the expenditure of £148,000 from the United Kingdom Exchequer for the supreme court of judicature in Northern Ireland; and what steps he will take to reduce this expenditure.

The Prime Minister

The Supreme Court is a reserved service under the Government of Ireland Act, 1920. The expenditure referred to, which is recoverable from the Northern Ireland share of reserved taxes, is on salaries of the staff. Manpower is already regularly reviewed.
