asked the Minister of Transport if the current Merseyside Land Use/Transport Survey will include an examination of the possibility of the Leeds and Liverpool Canal being terminated as a waterway short of the built-up area of Merseyside and of the feasibility of the canal's route through this area of Merseyside being used as a road link, or transport parking harbour for heavy lorries, in the vicinity of the dock road at Bootle and Liverpool.
