asked the Minister of Social Security how many families there are in which the wife is a chronic invalid and requires help in the home.

I regret this information is not available in the form requested. Information which the Ministry has, however, shows that, out of some 1½ million married women who are fully insured under the National Insurance scheme some 33,000 have been receiving sickness benefit for more than 12 months.
