§ Mr. LoughlinIn England and Wales deaths from cancer of the lung specified as primary numbered 11,073 in 1955 and 18,300 in 1965. 6,125 lung cancer deaths in 1955 and 8,098 in 1965 were not specified as either primary or secondary but I am advised that most of these are likely to have been primary. Comparable figures for 1945 are not available.
