§ Mr. Buchanasked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will institute an inquiry into the machinery of High Courts with special reference to obviating the present waste of time by medical and other witnesses in attendance during the hearing of other cases.
§ Mr. RossI understand that every effort is made to minimise the time lost by medical and other witnesses attending sittings of the High Court. This cannot, of course, be eliminated entirely, and local difficulties should be taken up with the appropriate court authorities. I do not think that a general inquiry into the matter would be useful.
