Mr. Armstrong

asked the Minister of Labour how many men and women, respectively, were registered as unemployed in the Northern Region on 1st November, 1963, 1964, 1965 and 1966; and what percentage of the men unemployed on 1st November, 1966 had been unemployed for more than three months.

Counts of the unemployed are usually made on the second Monday in each month. The total numbers registered as unemployed at Employment Exchanges and Youth Employment Offices in the Northern region were:—

of Zambia and South Africa, and the President of Portugal, with a view to publishing, as part of the proposed White Paper on Rhodesia, any exchanges of correspondence which he has had with them.
