§ 43. Mr. Dodds-Parkerasked the President of the Board of Trade what is the percentage profit made on the ex-bond price of tobacco and spirits sold at duty-free airport shops; and by how much these percentages have been increased since November, 1964 to 20th July, 1966.
346W
§ Mr. DarlingThere are no duty-free shops at aerodromes administered by my Department. It is, however, apparent that the amount of profit earned depends to a large degree on the amount paid by the concessionaire to the airport authority for the right to sell duty-free goods. Subject to observation of Government policy relating to prices, it would not be right for me to inquire into the commercial agreements between aerodrome authorities and their concessionaires.
