§ Mrs. CastleOn road pricing and on my recent visit to the United States of America I have nothing to add to the Answers given to my hon. Friend the Member for West Ham, North (Mr. Arthur Lewis) and the hon. Member for Haltemprice (Mr. Wall) on 2nd November, 1966—[Vol. 735, c.117.]—and to the hon. Member for Bodmin (Mr. Bessell) on 9th November, 1966.—[Vol 735, c. 296.]
Concerning traffic control, which was not in any case the primary purpose of my visit, I had discussions on a number of points, such as traffic signal systems and parking policies which are of particular interest to us in view of the similar techniques we are developing in this country.
Mr. Gresham Cookeasked the Minister of Transport when she intends to introduce legislation for the control by charging of traffic in city centres.
