§ Mr. Maclennanasked the Secretary of State for Scotland whether, in view of the financial difficulties of many hill sheep 323W farmers, he will make an advance payment of hill sheep subsidy.
§ Mr. RossYes. I am aware of these difficulties and I am arranging for an advance payment of 15s. per ewe to be made as quickly as possible under the Hill Sheep Subsidy Scheme. Claims can be submitted any time after 2nd December; and the sooner farmers send them in the sooner payments will be made.
