asked the Minister of Health what progress has been made towards setting up the General Practice Finance Corporation.

My right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for Scotland and I have made an Order bringing into operation from today the provisions of the National Health Service Act, 1966, which relate to the General Practice Finance Corporation, and I am pleased to announce that the following have accepted invitations to serve on the CorporationChairman—Sir Frederick Hoare, Bart. Deputy Chairman—Sir William Mullens, D.S.O., T.D.; The Lord Crook; F. Lishman, Esq., O.B.E., M.B., B.S.; Sir William Murrie, G.C.B., K.B.E.; A. E. Orchard-Lisle, Esq., F.A.I.; S. Wand, Esq., M.B., Ch.B.

It is not proposed at present to appoint the further member for whom the Act allows. I understand that the first meeting of the Corporation is due to take place this week.
