33. Mr. Alison

asked the Minister of Power if he will give a general direction to the National Coal Board in the public interest, to put a specific limit upon the capital sums which may be spent on eliminating the production engineering difficulties which have arisen in the production of Homefire smokeless fuel.

Mr. Marsh

No; but I shall keep in close touch with the Chairman of the Board about the progress of the work and its cost.
