asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies what extra staff is being provided, after the reductions in the Colonial Office, to enable the Governor and Administration of the Turks and Caicos Islands to carry out their responsibilities.

None. No reduction has been made in the Section of the Dependent Territories Division of the Commonwealth Office which deals with the Turks and Caicos Islands, and none of the senior posts normally filled from this country in the Turks and Caicos service is vacant.
