§ Mr. Woofasked the Minister of Health if he is satisfied that there is adequate provision for severely disabled persons who reside at home and need constant nursing care and also occasionally to be nursed in a suitable hospital or nursing home in order to give members of the family a rest; and what such facilities are available in the North-East region.
§ Mr. LoughlinIn this area, as elsewhere, the normal health and welfare services (including home nursing, and short-term care in hospitals and residential homes) are available. It is not yet possible to meet all needs fully but the services will be expanded, in this and other areas, as the hospital building programme and the development plans of local authorities are realised.
