§ Mr. William Hamiltonasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether, in order to overcome more speedily the balance of payments problem, he will institute a review of all overseas expenditure, military and civil, with a view to reducing it by a specified percentage within the next two years.
§ Mr. DiamondMy right hon. Friend announced on 20th July a Government decision to reduce Government overseas expenditure by at least £100 million. The Government are continuously reviewing the possibility of further savings.
